Learn to fly with Europe’s longest existing and friendliest flying club

The Rotterdamsche Aero Club (RAC) is the longest existing Flying Club in Europe. We are around since 1926! Even Charles Lindbergh visited us back in 1927 before he flew solo and non-stop across the Atlantic as the first person ever. So you might say flying is in our blood!

The RAC has an official flying school with its own fleet of modern aircraft. We are also certified as an ATO: Approved Training Organisation. For which we are regularly audited by the government.

Professionality and fun

It is important to us that you learn to fly well ánd have fun doing it. We don’t rush your lessons and we take all the time you need, so you can really make your dream come true! You get carefull guidance based on “Professionality & Fun”; Flying is a hobby, it is not military training.

Our instructors have trained hundreds of students. We help you get your theory license offering accessible theory lessons and help you become a good pilot in one of our beautiful aircraft.

Besides flying and groundschool with your instructor, sharing experiences with other students, pilots and retired pilots is also both fun ánd a good learning experience. Share your experience after a lesson in our cosy club-bar!

The perfect aircraft for learning to fly

You learn to fly in one of our Diamond DA40 aircraft. These are nicely fitted four seaters, so you are able to have a friend join you on one of your lessons also!

The Diamond flies on JET A1 fuel. Just like a big Boeing, which you will regularly encounter here on Rotterdam! Due to the modern version of the planes, it is great to fly. Much is automated, so you can really focus on flying. This ensures quick learning as well as more fun doing it! Don’t worry about difficulty; really everyone can learn to fly. We help you.
